About Me

Catherine Coyle is a social worker/psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy and maintains a private practice in Toronto, Ontario.

With over 20 years experience as a clinician, and a masters level graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University specializing in clinical social work with Individuals, Families and Groups. She is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are trauma, past and present (this includes childhood trauma, present day trauma in your adult life, motor vehicle accidents, depression and anxiety; relationship and family issues, eating disorders and body dysmorphia, grief, sexual orientation, self-esteem, trust, work stress, life transition issues and so on.  She has recent experience leading support groups for motherless daughters(adult women who lost their mothers in childhood), shyness and communication, stress management and a general therapy women's support group. She has a particular interest in working with young professionals who are striving to find a balance in their work and personal lives. 

Catherine is  practical, interactive, solution oriented therapist.  Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.

Bachelor of Social Work, 1987, King's College, University of Western Ontario.
Bachelor of Sociology, 1985, University of Western Ontario.
